Your Role
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Applied AI Engineer to build production AI systems inside some of the world’s most complex organizations.

You will work directly with users, engineers and executives to uncover the tacit knowledge, exceptions and decision logic rarely captured in requirements documents, then translate them into production software.

You will operate across software engineering, AI systems, data architecture and customer delivery. This is not a research, advisory or prototype-only role: you will own the path from problem definition through architecture, build, production, adoption and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Production AI Delivery: Own applied AI systems end-to-end, from discovery and architecture through deployment, adoption and improvement.
• Agentic Systems Engineering: Build agentic workflows, tool-use systems, orchestration, state management and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Model Evaluation & Scoping: Evaluate models for domain knowledge, security and technical performance against specific use cases.
• Technology-Agnostic Architecture: Select platforms, infrastructure and custom software based on quality, security, performance, latency, cost and architectural control.
• Semantic Architecture: Model business objects, relationships, events, permissions, actions and workflows so AI systems understand how the enterprise operates.
• Governance & Bounded Autonomy: Engineer permissions, approval thresholds, auditability, escalation paths and fallbacks.
• Evaluation, Observability & AI Economics: Monitor quality, reliability, failure modes, latency and cost, linking system performance to business outcomes.
• Forward Deployed Discovery: Embed with client teams to develop domain understanding and translate operational reality into technical systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Spark or similar.
• Experience building data-intensive applications, enterprise software or production AI systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, retrieval, tool use, structured outputs, orchestration or agentic architectures.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, APIs, software architecture and modern engineering practices.
• Experience taking software from prototype into production, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar domains and solve ambiguous problems without a predefined playbook.
• Strong communication and product judgement, with confidence working directly with engineers, users and senior executives.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent demonstrated engineering experience.

Preferred Experience
Experience in forward deployed or customer-embedded engineering; agentic systems, RAG, evaluation, observability or model routing; Palantir Foundry/AIP, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure or GCP; and production architectures including workflow engines, distributed systems and APIs.
