Your Role
Foxtrot is seeking a precise, driven, and systems-minded Controller to own our financial engine. You will partner directly with the CFO to turn complex financial data into a trusted, scalable operational infrastructure. Your expertise will span the entire financial lifecycle, from managing end-to-end month end closes and cash flow to building the scalable workflows that support our rapid growth. You will oversee the day-to-day accounting and strategic forecasting, helping Foxtrot solve complex operational problems while gaining full exposure to a high-growth, partner-led enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close process end-to-end - prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis with precision and timeliness.
- Prepare and review consolidated international financial statements, supporting schedules and management/KPI reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, HR, operations) to ensure accurate cost allocation and revenue recognition.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, including updating financial models .
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and tax regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
- Administer payroll and benefits reporting, coordinating with HR and external providers.
- Initiate customer invoices, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and client documentation.
- Manage daily and monthly cash flow tracking and forecasting.
- Assist with contract reviews and compliance checks, identifying areas of risk and comply with standard T&Cs of the company.
- Partner directly with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements - helping shape scalable systems and reporting infrastructure.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and improve accounting processes, documentation, and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience).
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, professional services environment a plus
- Strong systems aptitude (QuickBooks Online, Rippling, Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets.)
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with multi-jurisdictional accounting (Canada/EU) a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communicator with ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work autonomously.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with remote/distributed teams across time zones.
- Experience with audit preparation, tax filings, or international accounting frameworks.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA) or coursework underway.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and automation tools.
